GroundWOW join It's a Brain Game campaign to tackle Encephalitis

GroundWOW join Ian Powell’s brain child, It’s a Brain Game, to raise awareness of, and charitable donations for, The Encephalitis Society.

Encephalitis is inflammation of the brain caused by infections or autoimmune response. It can affect anyone, at any age, and can have devastating consequences including life changing physical and/or mental disabilities, and sometimes it can even cause death.

Ian Powell created It’s a Brain Game after his own battle with Encephalitis in 2017 and is kicking off the campaign with an ambitious goal to play at least 100 racket related sports in February. This can include anything from squash to badminton, table tennis to racket ball, whatever racket sport he gets challenged with!

The team at GroundWOW have decided to help Ian achieve this goal as well as continue the campaign throughout the year with an aim to raise £7,800 (through Ian’s JustGiving page). The figure represents the 78% of people across the world who have never heard of Encephalitis, and with this being such a huge percentage, there’s even more reason to get fundraising.

The Encephalitis Society receives no financial support from the government so the team at GroundWOW are pleased to be helping Ian and the It’s a Brain Game campaign.
